Holiday and travel guides

A travel or holiday guide will give important information about tourist destinations. This will include reviews and ratings of accommodation and restaurants, and accompanying addresses, prices and booking details. It is a good idea to check the star ratings of any accommodation you are considering, 5 stars being luxurious and 1 star being basic. Half stars indicate properties offering similar standards to the appropriate full star rating, but offering more comfort by providing additional features and facilities. Other information provided could include available activities with their phone numbers and/or website. Helpful maps are usually included of main cities. Information on the country will also be outlined, including population size, climate, topology, animals and flora, ethnic groups, language, some local history, type of government, main industries, and so on.
The guide will almost certainly provide details of points of interest, including national icons, world-renown art and architecture, national parks, mountain ranges, beaches, lakes and any other features of the country that are unique.

highlight.gif  Africa Travel Guide and Bicycle Touring Guide
http://www.ibike.org/africaguide/index.htm

Country-by-country travel guide for Africa with an emphasis on independent bicyclists, bicycle touring, information sources and links.

Due to media reports on problem spots in Africa, perhaps you are a bit hesitant to tour -- let alone bike tour -- in Africa. Often there is more myths and misinformation than facts about Africa. These myths are reinforced by a linguistic bias in English. We would like to ease your mind some. While Africa is not without its problems and travel anywhere has risks to be aware of, if you are selective about where and when you travel or tour there are great rewards to traveling, and especially bicycle touring in Africa. The headline coverage of Africa misrepresents how safe, serene and welcoming the continent as a whole has been and continues to be to travelers and tourists.

Our site currently contains 71 eco holiday agents, tour operators and eco accommodation providers to help plan your next day trip, weekend break or trip of a lifetime. Between them all they can provide hundreds of responsible & ecotourism holiday options to inspire you.
